The Tall Ship pub at the entrance to Gloucester Docks has undergone a full renovation inside and out in a joint investment by pub owners Red Oak Taverns and new landlord Sam Nasrat ensuring the pub now stands out at the helm of the Quays.
This 18th century pub has been upgraded throughout retaining its original character with an added contemporary feel. Included in the refurbishment are new toilets, an open plan area and central bar. The pub has all new furniture with fixed and raised seating and pictures celebrating the historic Gloucester Docks and Tall ships.
Sam Nasrat who runs the pub says, “The new look pub is fantastic and our customers, whether they are locals or visitors to the Quays, love it. With the new food and drink offer and the broad range of live music that features local artists, we are getting a strong following of people who want to spend time here; it’s a really inclusive place”.
Business development manager for Red Oak Taverns, Jo Skuse said, “The pub has undergone an unbelievable transformation and it is now somewhere everyone can visit whether you are a tourist to the area, out for some lunch or dinner or fancy a pint of real ale, The Tall Ship is the place to be”.
The pub serves Mr Yips Kitchen Asian street food from Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner and traditional roasts on Sundays.
Adding Sam, who previously ran bars and hotels in Amsterdam prior to taking over the Tall Ship said, “Working with Red Oak on this investment has been brilliant. They were very open to my ideas which were included in the final design for the pub”.
The pub has a brand-new range of drinks featuring spirits from Siblings Gin and Fox’s Kiln Distillery. Four real ale beers are offered as well as a range of premium craft beers, lagers and ciders.
