The Horse & Jockey in Widnes, operated by Debbie Topping has just received its second makeover by pub owners Red Oak Taverns. Following the new garden and outside bar being completed last summer, it has now received a six figure internal and external refurbishment.

The exterior features new signage and lighting and internally it has been completely transformed. The traditional pub has kept its character with new furniture, bespoke designed wallpaper featuring horses, all new décor and local interest artwork. The bar has been changed and the latest sound system has been incorporated. The kitchen has undergone a complete refit.

Speaking about the new look, Debbie said, “The place looks fantastic. We’ve now got a beautiful cosy pub with a brilliant outside eating and drinking area. I can’t wait to see more and more customers experience this special pub”.

Barry Lee, business development manager for Red Oak Taverns said, “Debbie knows what makes a great pub and now it’s been transformed both inside and out, the local community have a real gem to enjoy”.

Debbie will be continuing to serve her tapas style street food menu which includes authentically sourced Spanish dishes. There will be regular tribute music and local acts and both Sky and BT live sport will be shown.

Adding Debbie said, “Working with Red Oak on the investment has been easy and they have supported the development every step of the way. ”
